Quick Start

Use this when you want to move from an empty Threader project to your first reviewable clip.

Threader works best when you think in this loop:

Project -> Video -> Event / Time Range -> Clip -> Tactical Annotation -> Playlist / Review -> Feed

1. Create Or Open A Project

Create a new project for the match or open an existing project from your recent list.

A project is the local container for the match video, events, clips, drawings, annotations, playlists, and review state.

2. Import Match Video

Import the main match video before doing detailed analysis. Once the video is available, use the player and timeline to move through the match.

If Threader cannot read the file cleanly, transcode it to a standard H.264 MP4 and import that version.

3. Import Or Create Events

If you already have event data from a provider or another workflow, import it into the project.

If you do not have event data yet, you can still work directly from the video by selecting time ranges and creating clips manually.

4. Create Your First Clip

Find a moment in the video or timeline, then create a clip from either:

  • a selected time range
  • a selected event

Clips are the first durable analysis object. They can be adjusted, annotated, grouped into playlists, and shared later.

5. Add Tactical Meaning

Add a tactical annotation when the clip needs football meaning beyond a title.

Start with the minimum useful structure:

  • phase
  • concept
  • outcome
  • notes if needed

6. Build A Review Playlist

Group related clips into a playlist when you want to prepare coaching review material.

Use names that survive outside the app, such as High press recoveries or Player 8 receiving under pressure.

7. Publish When Ready

Use workspace and feed tools after you have something worth sharing, such as a clip, playlist, or review note.

Feed is the collaboration layer. It is not required to start local analysis.
