Video And Match Time

Video time and match time are related, but they are not the same thing.

Video time is the playback position in the media file. Match time is the football clock or real-world timestamp used to align events and exports.

Video Time

Use video time for:

  • playback
  • timeline navigation
  • selecting clip ranges
  • drawing keyframes

Match Time

Use match time when:

  • imported events need to align with the video
  • event records require accurate timing
  • CDF export needs validated timestamps
  • first half, second half, stoppage, or period boundaries matter

Sync

Match time sync maps the video position to football time. You can create clips before sync is perfect, but structured export and event validation need reliable timing.
